Brake Lights & Bug Bites

Tales from the Road
  • I can still remember the moment like it was yesterday.

    Proctors on the road

We were driving home from one of our many trips to the Upper Peninsula counting campers. Ken and I started dreaming about one day buying one of our own and hitting the road. We knew nothing about camping, but we sure loved dreaming. We picked out the biggest most beautiful Class As that we could find! The conversation would come up between the two of us every so often, always as a some-day dream.

Then COVID hit, and like everyone else, our lives changed. Ken started working from home with no talk of returning to the office. And, one day it hit us....our boys are growing up, and growing up fast! Everyone told us, the years fly by, and boy do they fly! Our oldest is 12! I felt like we blinked and our baby is becoming a man! Life is short!

Ken and I started talking a little bit more seriously about actually doing the camper thing, and committing to a few years of intentional family time before it was too late. We talked about stepping away from the busyness of the normal routines of home and work and exploring all of the incredible displays of God's beauty in our country. All the while, carving out more family time.

So, slowly but surely, we started putting one foot in front of the other which brings us to today! Hitting the road on our first trip in the camper!  We are so excited to share our journey with you!
