Tales from the Road

Niagara Falls

September 9, 2022

Today, we explored Niagara Falls. We squeezed a lot into the day! Following a small parking fiasco ($50 later!), we explored all the falls have to offer. We started out by viewing the falls from the state park, and then experienced the falls up close at the Cave of the Winds. After riding an elevator 175 feet deep into the Niagara Gorge, we put on our yellow ponchos and walked the several wooden walkways up to the famous “hurricane deck” putting us within inches of Bridal Veil Falls. It was thrilling and scary and wet!

After drying off in the sun with some lunch, we hopped aboard the trolley for a little tour of all the different sections of the falls. The trolley dropped us off right by the Maid of the Mist Boat Ride where we met up with our friends, The Sharys, who were also camping in New York!

After a quick rest, dinner, and swim in Ontario back at the campground, we ventured back to the falls with Ken to watch the Niagara Falls Illumination and fireworks! A late night, but worth it!
