Tales from the Road

Mountain Views

Honestly, New Hampshire was originally just a stop on our journey from Vermont to Maine. We didn’t know very much about New Hampshire, but we all fell in love with it and did not want to leave! The beauty was breathtaking, especially with the fall colors. It is a place that just beckons you to be outside!

We only had 2 days in New Hampshire so we tried to soak it all up! Our campground was very nice, nestled right in the mountains in a cute little town. There were so many hikes to choose from! We did the Basin Hike which was amazing! The trail offered several waterfalls and deep pools, one of which is the deepest pothole in the White Mountains.

We all took the gondola ride up to the top of Cannon Mountain (a ski resort in the winter). The views were beautiful. We could see Canada, Vermont, and Maine. Once at the top, there were a few short hikes that we enjoyed.

Our journey to Maine started out on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, a 34.5 mile drive through White Mountain National Forest. It is well known as one of the best fall foliage viewing spots in the country.  We cannot wait to come back to New Hampshire some day!Â
